Everything Is Closer Here

The people are closer, as in they hug and kiss you even if they just met you. The cars drive closer on the road, yes it can be quite scary at times, but what are horns for? The houses are definitely a lot closer. In the states, or at least wisconsin, a lot of houses have yards and are farther apart, whereas here, teh houses are very close and if people have yards you wouldn´t be able to tell because most houses have a giant wall around them, plus teh yards would probably be very small anyway. The extended families are closer. Latin American culture accepts even distant cousins as being part of teh close family and welcome them into their home often. I would say probably 5 out of 7 days a week we have uncles, aunts, cousins and anyone else over to our house to chare a meal, and ALL of them are extremely friendly and accept me into their homes as well quite often. It´s a very close culture, in all aspects.

  1. Had I a Regular Education “English Teaching License” (as opposed to the ESL or English as a Second Language Teaching License), I would possibly having connections to Santa Cruz as the principal at the American School of Santa Cruz, Bolivia was ready to hire me in 1996.

As a matter a fact, you might consider touring that school before you leave, just to learn of the future possibilities that lie in your future.

    Here is the address:
